Biography

Penny Allman-Payne is a teacher, political activist and lawyer. Penny has taught in both rural & remote and city schools in her home state of Queensland, as well as a year-long stint in Manchester, UK. As as solicitor, she has worked for national law firms, specialising in public & professional liability and insurance & risk. Penny is the immediate past Co-Convenor of the Australian Greens, having concluded her three-year term in 2016. Penny has also served a two-year term as the Queensland Greens Convenor and is presently the Queensland representative on the Australian Greens National Council. Penny has run as a Greens candidate at both state and federal levels. She is a member of the Queensland Teachers Union and the Queensland College of Teachers.
