Thomas Crone (born 1980) is a British Green Party politician and Leader of The Green Party Group on Liverpool City Council. He is an elected Councillor for St Michael's ward, winning his seat in 2014 with 60% of the vote.
He is the Green Party candidate in the May 2017 Liverpool City Region mayoral election. The 'Metro Mayor' will head up the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority with powers covering education and skills, planning and housing, transport and health and social care.
Crone was elected as a city Councillor for St Michael's ward in 2014. He is the Leader of the Green Group on Liverpool City Council. He first stood in St Michaels ward in 2010. During the same year he stood as the Green Party's parliamentary candidate for the Liverpool Riverside constituency.
In 2016 he stood in the Liverpool mayoral elections winning 10,609 votes (10.9%).
He has expressed a commitment to 'clean' political campaigning. Speaking about the parliamentary election in 2010 he said, "We have always believed in campaigning in a positive and informative way, based on mature and respectful debate".
