French teacher in a secondary school, and new inhabitant in Enghien, small town of 13,500 citizens, Bénédicte Linard participates in her first campaign for ECOLO as first deputy at the regional elections in Wallonia in 2009. To improve her knowledge of the region and its stakes, she quits temporarily her job to join the cabinet of the ecologist Minister Jean-Marc Nollet. Three years later, Bénédicte enters the Walloon Parliament until May 2014.
She specifically works on topics as local politics, education, agriculture, biodiversity and public transports. In September 2014, after the death of her colleague, Bénédicte Linard becomes councillor in her town, Enghien. She’s in charge of: finances, personnel department, employment, health, equal opportunities, public lecture and out-of-school activities. On the field, she daily works to strengthen social cohesion: to connect social players, to create partnerships between institutions, associations and citizens, to support the initiatives of transition and to improve women’s emancipation.
